Gwénaël founded WIPSEA in 2013. After being a software engineer specialized in computer vision at THOMSON during 15 years, he decided to engage his know-how for ecology purpose. He retrained with a Master of Ecology and spent 6 months in Australia to build his first prototype of software being able to detect marine mammals (Dugong Dugong) on aerial images shot from a drone. Back in France, he founded WIPSEA and raised public funds to develop a software solution able to detect and recognize marine megafaune species using Deep Learning technics. WIPSEA is now a 4 people team. And after 7 years of R&D, WIPSEA is ready to grow !
