L’Institut de la BEI est le bras philanthropique du Groupe BEI. Il a été créé au sein du groupe BEI (Banque européenne d’investissement et Fonds européen d’investissement) afin de promouvoir et de soutenir les initiatives sociales, culturelles et universitaires avec les parties prenantes européennes et le grand public. Il s’agit d’un pilier essentiel de l’engagement de la communauté et de la citoyenneté du Groupe BEI. L’Institut de la BEI s’est engagé à réduire les inégalités et à promouvoir la diversité et la cohésion sociale dans toute l’Europe.

The Social Innovation Tournament (SIT), recognises and supports the best European social entrepreneurs. It promotes innovative ideas and rewards initiatives in the areas of education, healthcare, the environment, circular economy, inclusion and many more that contribute to creating societal impact.
Latest News and Highlights
It is ten years since the Institute held its 1st Social Innovation Tournament. Finalists become members of the SIT Alumni Network. They benefit from learning, networking, and creating opportunities to solve some of modern society’s most concerning problems such as (i) the Scaling Executive Programme, (ii) SITolarships, and (iii) conferences to network with investors, venture philanthropists and foundations to help scaling their project.
The EIB Institute was set up within the EIB Group (European Investment Bank and European Investment Fund) to promote and support social, cultural, and academic initiatives with European stakeholders and the public at large. It is a key pillar of the EIB Group’s community and citizenship engagement. The Social Innovation Tournament (SIT), the flagship initiative of the Social Programme of the EIB Institute, recognises and supports the best European social entrepreneurs. It promotes innovative ideas and rewards initiatives that contribute to creating social, ethical or environmental impact. Typically, it covers projects in the areas of education, healthcare, the environment, circular economy, climate change, inclusion, job creation, ageing and many more. All finalists compete for the General Category 1st and 2nd Prizes – €75 000 and €30 000 respectively. In 2021, the Special Category prizes will go to projects focusing on sustainable living. Finalists from all SIT editions become members of the SIT Alumni Network. As members, they benefit from numerous training opportunities such as (i) the Scaling Executive Programme, a full-time executive training course focused on scaling, pitching and engagement with investors and webinars and e-training on digital marketing, communications, IMM, (ii) SITolarships, an innovation grants programme, and (iii) conferences around Europe to network with investors, venture philanthropists and foundations who can help their project to scale.
