Hwalani believes in the power of collaboration and co-creation for the greater good through impact entrepreneurship, innovation and designs this opportunity through all her work. She is a Regional Head of Wealth, within the ABSA Relationship Bank working closely with individual clients, business owners, investment companies, and broader clients of the bank to mitigate loss, financial stability and promote trade and commercial activities that results in economic growth and development. She is a Senator representing South Africa at the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF) an organisation committed to collaborating globally to empower the economic development of the world by fostering innovative financial instruments for start-ups, scaleups, innovators, entrepreneurs, SMEs and to promote gender equality and women’s participation in all sectors of the world economy. Hwalani is also a Board Member of Women in Tech® an international organization with a double mission: to close the gender gap and to help women embrace technology. The organization focuses on 4 primary areas that are a call for action: Education, Entrepreneurialism, Social Inclusion, and Science & Innovation. As an advocate for women empowerment WBAF and the Women in Tech platform aligns quite well with Hwalani ‘s goals of women inclusion, empowerment and creation of sustainable/ profitable women owned businesses. A finalist in the Standard Bank 40 under 40 young achievers, Hwalani was listed in Mail & Guardian Women Changing South Africa. An advocate for women empowerment, Hwalani holds a Master’s Degree and is currently pursuing Doctoral Studies at the University of Pretoria with a focus on Turnaround Strategy and Entrepreneurship.
