Jeroen Carrin joined the Olympic Refuge Foundation in September 2019, shortly after its creation by the International Olympic Committee. As the Senior Programmes Manager, Jeroen oversees the foundation's global portfolio of programmes and grants, coordinating and co-creating collaborative projects with various stakeholders across different sectors, developing partnership models that maximise impact. Jeroen is a humanitarian professional with 17 years of experience working in conflict and post-conflict settings in support of crisis-affected communities and people displaced by war, violence, and natural disasters. Prior to joining the Olympic Refuge Foundation, Jeroen was a Coordinator at the International Committee of the Red Cross, where for over a decade he directed the humanitarian response to conflict-affected populations in Uganda, DR Congo, Sudan, Syria, Colombia and Lebanon. He then became Head of Humanitarian Aid at the Belgian Red Cross, overseeing Disaster Response and Risk Reduction programmes in the Great Lakes Region, southern Africa, Haiti and Nepal. Jeroen started his humanitarian career on the Thai-Cambodian border, as technical advisor to a local NGO fighting against child trafficking. Jeroen holds an Engineering degree from the University of London and a Masters in Economics from the University of Lausanne HEC Business School.
