Alexander Taylor Ltd
Alexander is an industrial designer, innovator and creative director, who founded Alexander Taylor Studio in 2002. He creates product informed by research, development and considered collaborations; always working towards the most appropriate and innovative solutions. Key projects include PrimeKnit for adidas / Olympic Games 2012 which became the most sustainable and innovative product ever produced by the brand. He continues to be an innovation and design consultant for adidas, introducing new technology and collaborations, bridging performance, style and innovation. Alex designed and created the first adidas x Parley shoes launched at the UN climate change summit in 2015. The shoes were acquired by the V&A for their permanent collection in 2018. He continues to be an Ambassador for Parley for the Oceans. Alex has worked on key projects within adidas’ Futurecraft series, including machined leather and TFP, outlining the brand’s future intent and creative direction for innovation and technology. He has developed new and challenging products for Hunter Wellington Boots and collaborated with Joachim de Callatay on Stella McCartney men's footwear. He has designed furniture and lighting for some of Europe’s leading design manufacturers and his Fold Light was acquired by MoMA and the Chicago Institute of Design for their permanent collections. He has won the Designer of the Future Award at Design Miami Basel and was visiting professor at the ECAL (2008-2016) and Royal Colleage of Art (2013-2015).
