Wiatta gained her start in African economic development as the Co-Founder and Country Director of Dare to Innovate (www.daretoinnovate.com), promoting entrepreneurship as a solution to unemployment, connecting youth with dynamic training and coaching, market opportunities and creative investment. Launched in 2012, Dare to Innovate has offices across Guinea, as well as Benin and Ghana, has trained over 8,000 youth and invested over $1M in 265 startups. A veteran entrepreneur and dedicated to promoting African autonomy and economic empowerment, Wiatta has also launched several companies that provide solutions to obstacles that are most prevalent to African SMEs, such as access to financing and value chain services. OZE (www.oze.guru), launched in Ghana in 2017 and one of the top 5 apps used by Ghanaian businesses, OZE helps SMEs digitize so that they can make data-driven decisions to improve performance and access capital. Natri, an agribusiness value chain development firm, promoting her unique adaptation of “social franchising” to make access to the agricultural sector easier for entrepreneurs and more transparent for investors. And Spark Rise Ventures, an investment fund promoting innovative African opportunities in francophone countries. Wiatta is also the CEO and Founder of AWE, Inc., Africa in Another World Envisioned, a mining services and mining investment company based in Kenya, with operations in Zambia, Tanzania, DRC, and Namibia, focused in developing environmentally, ecologically and socially sustainable African mining operations.
