The Impact Investing activities at Schneider Electric are carried out by two investment vehicles: - Schneider Electric Energy Access (SEEA) which is an impact investment vehicle created in 2009 managing EUR 7M. Ticket size ranges from EUR 100K to 500K. SEEA invests mainly in early stage companies for a holding period of 7 to 10 years usually as a minority shareholder. SEEA invests in Europe and in developing countries. In Europe, it focuses on tackling energy poverty often alongside addressing other social issues like poor housing conditions, social exclusion and/or unemployment (working closely with Schneider’s Foundation to develop new projects). In developing countries, investments are focused on access to energy services. SEEA is “ESUS certified”, meaning that it is recognised under the French law as a social and solidarity company. - Schneider Electric Energy Access Asia (SEEAAsia), created in December 2019, is an investment vehicle managing EUR 21M. It makes equity or quasi-equity investments into social enterprises fostering energy access in South and South-East Asia. Ticket size ranges from EUR 400K to EUR 1M. SEEAA invests mostly in early stage companies as a minority shareholder. To get financial and technical support from Schneider Electric's Impact Investment vehicles, the companies' business and impact cases must be validated twice by the Investment Committee.
