Fabien Esculier is the founder and coordinator of OCAPI research and action program (www.leesu.fr/ocapi). He works at Ecole des Ponts ParisTech in the urban hydrology laboratory LEESU. He worked six years in different public institutions related to water policies. He founded OCAPI program in 2014 to study and support the social and ecological transition of the water-food nexus and more specifically the management of human nutrient excretion. OCAPI is one of the first French academic research programs that opens the debate about management options for human urine and feces and explores source separation and decentralization in urine and feces management for an increased sustainability and the production of fertilizers.
