Sim Tshabalala, a banker with over 22 years’ experience in the financial services industry, joined the Standard Bank Group in 2000 in the project finance division of SCMB and in 2001 he was appointed to the group executive committee. In 2008, he was appointed chief executive of SBSA. In March 2013, he was appointed as the joint group chief executive of SBG, alongside Ben Kruger until September 2017, where he took over as the sole group Chief Executive Officer. He sits on the Boards of the Liberty Group,Standard Bank’s subsidiary in Nigeria, Stanbic IBTC, the Banking Association of South Africa, on the Board and Council of Business Leadership South Africa.As CE of Standard Bank Group, he has committed to the HeForShe Campaign. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from Rhodes University, and a Master of Laws at Notre Dame in the US.
