Seiichi Matsuo is a prominent researcher, academic leader and the President of Nagoya University since 2015. He served as the Head of the Nephrology Division at Chubu Rousai Hospital in Nagoya (1984- 1986). Professor Matsuo began his career at Nagoya University as an Instructor (1986) at the School of Medicine, and eventually became a professor at the Graduate School of Medicine (2004-2015). He is a HeForShe University IMPACT Champion. In March 2018, he was appointed as an Executive Member (part-time member), Council for Science, Technology and Innovation of the Cabinet Office, Japan and works energetically to achieve a better future for higher education and scientific research in Japan and partner countries. He received his PhD in Nephrology at Nagoya University.
